About Sunya Grantham, MHA, MA, LMFT

Hello!

First and foremost, I love people! I have an affinity for understanding the multitude of influences on how we develop ~ who we were, are now, and will be. All of my professional life has been devoted to helping and healing professions. In my practice, I help couples and families nurture the relationships they have with themselves and others.

I completed a M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy at Pacific Lutheran University. As a trained marriage and family therapist, my focus is on the relational elements of our lives. I believe who we are is in part shaped by; our pasts, connections with others, and our community. But these influences are not the only players. Our brains are molded by our interactions starting at birth. Possibly as early as in the womb. My approach facilitates an increased understanding of ourselves socioemotionally and neurologically. That’s just a fancy way of saying, I believe human development is a product of the links between the body, mind, and relationships.

I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families who find themselves stuck in a pattern preventing them from realizing the relationship they want. I facilitate discussions to assist clients in determining the life or relationship that leads them to a sense of contentment and fulfillment. We will unpack what is getting in the way and the challenges encountered during our journey. I do this through compassionate candidness, empathy, and humor.

When I am not in the office, I am moming two kiddos. Being outside nourishes my soul. Whether it be playing outside with the kids, gardening, biking, paddleboarding, or hiking I jump on any chance to be outdoors. At times I dream of living a nomadic lifestyle. Instead, I feed my sense of adventure by year-round camping, checking off parks on an ever growing list of destinations. And if I can sneak in a moment of quiet time, I love to read or binge on true crime documentaries.

Love is not something we give or get,
it is something that we nurture and grow.
